Pittsburgh, PA

C.J. Mahan Construction Company,LLC recently awarded Pittsburgh-based geotechnical engineering and construction firm ϳԹ the foundation support contract for the rehabilitation of the US 68 Lawrence Creek Bridge.

The bridge, which was built in 1996, spans 765 feet in length and sits approximately 155 feet above Lawrence Creek. While posing no safety hazard, the bridge’s embankments have settled more than anticipated and caused some damage and stress to the structure since its construction.

“We are happy to bring our ϳԹTeam and foundation expertise to this project and to help get the Lawrence Creek Bridge back online,” said Dino Kartofilis, Vice President, Eastern Division, ϳԹ. “The improvements made to the bridge during this project will ensure that its stabilized for the future.”

The project is scheduled to be completed in May 2021, including a planned two-month hiatus while the direction of traffic is switched.
